Kadayawan festival marked the 24th celebration and it started this week from August 17 to 23, 2009. The festival theme is “One People in Communion with the Earth”. Davao has been the place for Indigenous Peoples and land has become the core of their existence. This is the main reason of celebrating the Kadayawan sa Dabaw 2009.
It is a celebration of life, a thanksgiving for the gifts of nature, the wealth of culture, the bounties of harvest and serenity of living. The festival pays tribute to Davao's artistic, cultural and historical heritage.
There will be a lot of activities such as floral float parade, river festival, street dancing, street parties, fiesta bazaar and a lot more. To all Dabawenyos, happy kadayawan to all of us. Long live and God bless us all.
