Cattleya is the species of the orchids in a tropical country like philippines. They are widely known for their large showy flowers. The typical flower has three rather narrow petals : two are fringed, and the third is the conspicuous lip with a fringed margin and various markings and specks. At the base, the fringed margins are folded into a tube. Each flower stalk originates from a pseudobulb. The number of flowers varies; it can be just one or two, or sometimes up to ten. This flower orchids was taken in my window. These vanda orchids are great for growing at home. Vanda orchids have five petals. Several blooms may be grow forth from a single stem. Some of the rarest blue orchids species are Vandas. Vanda orchids are often seen growing on tree bark. But I grow mine in the basket. I don't know what flower is this but I love to post it in today's flowers as my entry. This hibiscus flower was taken in my garden here in the philippines. One sunny morning when I walk around my garden I saw this beautiful hibiscus blooming in my garden. I get my camera and took a close-up shot of this beautiful flower. The flowers are large, conspicuous, trumpet-shaped, with five or more petals, ranging from white to pink, red, purple or yellow, and from 4-15 cm broad.The color of the Hibiscus grows darker as it ages. The fruit is a dry five-lobed capsule, containing several seeds in each lobe, which are released when the capsule splits open at maturity. This lovely million flowers was taken at eden nature park and resort when my friends and I was there last easter sunday. Eden nature park and resort is a beautiful manmade resort at the foot of Mount Talomo, Toril, Davao City. Happy Easter everyone!!! May we have always hope in our heart. I took this picture when I was at Eden Nature Park and Resort this morning with my friends. Eden nature park is 3000 feet above sea level, offers one of the best views of Davao City and Davao Gulp. It is located on the upper slopes of grand old mount talomo with the majestic mount apo peeking behind its shoulders. This is my entry today, the different kinds of lovely Gumamela flowers in Mayumi's Wishing Well. I wished first before taking pictures. I hope my wish would come true.
