Last night we had heavy rain until dawn and morning today. The rain still pouring this morning. I was so lazy waking up as I thought was still early, when I check my table clock it was already 7:40 in the morning. I force myself to get up for shower I would be late for work already. I just had chocolate drink and whole wheat bread for my breakfast. I thought what to wear for today, a jacket with a black pants and a wedge sandals for my feet protection from flood. Thankfully, the pedicab was passing by our street cause he was dropping a passenger so I was able to ride right away. I like it when it rain as the weather was cooler although there were some parts of the street that were underwater but the jeepney that I was riding was able to pass-by going to office. I arrived very late to office but we had a cooler day good thing my boss didn't report today.

My friend from Canada requested me to send the money for the tuition fee of her son to her trusted friend in her son's school. I requested one of our friends from out of town to get the money from me. We agreed to meet at Abreeza mall in national bookstore so that I could easily see him when I get there. I didn't wait for long as he arrives a few minutes of waiting. I gave the cash and cash gift for him to be happy being the courier of the money. Then I proceeded to the entire mall together with my sister for a walk and sight-seeing as my sister has not yet seen the newly opened mall. We check every retail stores that are open. It's nice to know that there are available retail stores that we haven't had before. At least we're not behind of high end fashion as we have this now. The mall is 4 storey and very wide mall. This is the biggest mall that we had so far in Davao City. We had pictures as I brought camera to post it here. After strolling around, we went to Robinson's Grocery store to refresh ourselves as we're thirsty and hungry. We bought yogurt with blueberry and red cherry as our toppings. We're not contented with our food, we bought buko salad too. Then we went home, we drop first at lots for less store to buy some rice and I bought colorful clamp clip for my hair and went home. I had fun strolling at the mall though I didn't buy anything as I was there to give the money and not for shopping.

Today is Sunday known as the Lord's day, a day for giving. Me and my sister was invited for dinner by our neighbor in celebration for their daughter's graduation. Their closest neighbors were there. Going back to work again. I was tired doing household chores for the weekend, ironing clothes, mopping the floor, cleaning my room and shopping for a gift to my godson. I was attending a christening of Kieth Rainier Elises whose mom was a friend of mine yesterday at Redemptorist Church. I was one of the godmothers, we had fun witnessing his baptism, taking pictures and socializing with people around. The food was nice at Mang Manok Restaurant located at Tionko Avenue, Davao City. Wow! its Saturday.. The best time for me to relax, rest and of course to go malling. My sister and I today will go to SM mall and shopping of course. One of the best highlight of Kadayawan festival are the parade of excellent music and graceful dances that we called as Indak Indak sa Kadalanan, the street dance presentation starts from eight in the morning to twelve at noon. You can witness them from Roxas Avenue, C.M. Recto Ave., San Pedro Street to City Hall Drive. You can enjoy also street dancing showdown from Davao-based groups from two to four in the afternoon at Rizal Park and the showdown performance of out-of-town groups from six to ten at Rizal Park. You can also witness some indigenous tribes presenting their wares and produce at Lumadnong Bantawan featuring Tribung Klata at Rizal Park, Tribung Maranao at Peoples’ Park from ten in the morning up to twelve while Tribung Tausug at Rizal Park and Tribung Klata at Peoples’ Park starts from three to five in the afternoon. If you like to watch Mindanawon artists to compete the finals of Tunog Mindanaw World Music Festival at around five in the afternoon until the evening at the NCCC Mall. The Pamulak (Floral Parade) was another major activity and attraction during the August Kadayawan festivities. Below are pictures of the winners in the Traditional Category and other participating floats. Grand prize winner was Sul Orchids, owned by Mrs. Sally Uy Leuenberger and her husband Engineer Eduardo Leuenberger. Both Ed and Sally were once upon a time members of the Ateneo de Davao faculty. The 2nd and 3rd place prizes went to the groups owned by Charito Puentespina and her family. Charito Puentespina was a student of mine way back in the 60s and belongs to BSC 1967.

Congratulations to the Leuenbergers and Puentespinas and all the other winners and creators of the Floral Floats which participated in the last day of this year's Kadayawan Festival! May these colorful and beautiful floats with all their pretty flowers, fruits, plants and other gifts of Mother Earth imprint in our minds and hearts respect and grateful love for God's gift of Mother Earth which provides us, specially in Mindanao, with so many blessings for our happiness. I thank God for the gift of life, happiness and good health. I am thankful that I have a friend Norm from Canada who helped me encourage to do blogging. Today being the 26th anniversary of the death of our Senator Ninoy Aquino, the people of the Philippines were given a day off. Me and my friends are happy strolling around the mall catching for the sale. We had coffee at the nccc mall and I was able to shop printed pajamas and sleep shirts. This was taken when I was at Bali-Bali Beach Resort located in Samal Island with my friends. We were there during daytime enjoying our splash at this infinity pool. This pool which fronting the pavilion is the main attraction and its stretches its beautiful view up to the ocean. We arrived there at 8 a.m. and went home at around 5 p.m. We had fun swimming the ocean, taking pictures, enjoying the breeze of the ocean and munching a sumptuous meal. Happy weekdays everyone. Nowadays a lot of people are experiencing unemployment because of the downturn of our economy. A lot of companies are continuing to lay off more workers that's why we have to love our work that we have because not all have jobs nowadays.
